I have personally paddled the Rio San Pedro, putting in on the lake and paddling to the bridge, it is my favorite river in the world. I went with a traveling school called the Alzar School that has great paddling for high schoolers. Best thing I ever did.

Hallo Kurt Casey,
I have been in Feb 2011 at the lower Bio Bio. Unfortunately a new dam is under construction (just in the narrow canyon). New roads are already built, a new bridge is under construction too, and I think 2011 will be the last year for the 12 km above the canyon.
By the way, there is a comfortable put-in somewhat above the confluence with the rio Queuco at a balsadero (with a sign at the turn-off).
Sincerely
Erich Konopicky
Munich/Germany

Do you have any photos of the dam building?
I live 3 kms down the river and we have no access to see the constructing site.
In fact, they plan to build 3 more dams down the Pilmaiquen river, before it intersects with Rio Bueno

Hey Kurt, Thought Id drop a line to say hi. Its been a long time since the 83/84 shows.....
I recall writing you once and you said something about a new wife from Chile, so I think Im writing to the correct person. I hope things are Ok with you. With us, things have slowed down lots.
Im still doing music and now a old movie collector. Cheri does quilts and is doing fine as well.
Take care and write back to say hey......
Peace
